A Winning Homemade Toothpaste:

3 tbsp – Coconut oil
3 tbsp – Baking soda
a sprinkle– Salt
a touch– Cinnamon, to taste
20 drops– Cinnamon leaf essential oil
10 drops– Sweet orange essential oil
5 drops– Tea tree oil, meant to be good for the gums!

The coconut oil is solid at room temperature, so it usually helps to make the toothpaste over very low heat on the stove, it will help the coconut oil melt more easily. It is very important however that you stir as it solidifies, or else you will end up with layers of baking soda and cinnamon, kinda yucky!

As the coconut oil melts, add in the baking soda, salt and cinnamon to taste, then add in the essential oils (again to taste). You can place it in the fridge if it is hot out, it will solidify quickly. Check out our video on making the toothpaste here!  Enjoy.
